Another fun static activity is to give kids some plastic wrap and a pile of puffed rice. They rub the plastic on paper (or hair), then hold it above the cereal. The cereal actually "jumps" to the plastic wrap. They love this! Great activity that could lead to journal entries- predicting what will happen, writing their procedures, results and the use of new vocabulary. Also a chance to draw. This activity is great because it is cheap,every kid can do it, and then write what they learned.
