The 2008 EAST-WEST Summer Workshop will be held August 14-16.  Teachers, fellows and staff will gather to meet other participants, learn about the EAST-WEST partnership, develop science and communication skills and brainstorm project ideas.  Please note that teachers are only required to attend on August 15.  Click here to download an agenda.

     


Thursday, August 14:  Fellows only.  Utah Museum of Natural History, Room 319, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Friday, August 15:  Fellows and Teachers.  Red Butte Garden Orangerie, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Saturday, August 16:  Fellows only.  Salt Lake Center for Science Education, 1400 W. Goodwin Ave. (1145 N.), 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

All fellows and lead teachers are required to attend, other teachers are welcome but must register.  Please submit the registration form below by August 6th.  Please come prepared with school schedules, teaching schedules, calendars, lesson plans, and anything else that you may need to help you plan your WEST activities.

Breakfast and lunch will be served on all three days.  We will be walking around the Garden so make sure you have comfortable shoes!

Directions to the Utah Museum of Natural History:

The Utah Museum of Natural History is located at 1390 E. President's Circle on the University of Utah campus.

    •     If you are traveling North on I-15, continue to the I-80 East junction.
    •     From I-80 take the "1300 East" exit.
    •     Go north on 1300 East to 200 South, and turn right (East).
    •     Proceed East for one block to University Street.
    •     Turn right onto University Street, then turn left into Presidents Circle.
    •     The Museum is the first building on the south corner of Presidents Circle, on the west edge of the University of Utah campus.
