WEST Participants at Alta

WEST Teachers, Fellows, Faculty and staff gathered at the Alta Peruvian Lodge in September to exchange ideas and plan activities.

Mr. Wilkinson's Big Bug Book

Students from Ms. Carruth's 5th grade class at Wasatch Elementary created this book as a thank you to WEST fellow Elliot Wilkinson for helping them learn about bugs (and a few other things as well...)! 5th grader, Gavin, created the cover for this piece of art!

Climbing Navajo

Students climb to the top of a steep sandstone pinnacle during a field trip to Snow Canyon, Utah. WEST fellow, Jessica Ali-Adeeb, helped the group decipher the canyon's varied geologic history by creating a lesson to "Solve the Mystery of Snow Canyon".

Students at Beacon Heights Elementary study erosion

Students experimented with erosion by predicting what would happen to "Mr. Not-So-Smart's" house that was built on a river bank.

Fellows at Antelope Island

Fellows Lis Cohen, Jennifer Esker, Lindsay Zanno and Jay Shafter take a break during a field trip to Antelope Island with 75 fourth graders.
