Maura Olivos from the Alta Environmental Center gave a tour of the restoration project that Alta is undertaking. WEST is designing a field trip that will engage kids in collecting data in the restoration area, learning about the local ecology, and participating in the actual restoration itself.


Teachers and fellows worked together in teams to come up with an environmental lesson for the "Iron Scientist" competition. The only constraint? The lesson had to include the use of a plastic 2 L bottle.
