Submitting samples and other IMPORTANT end notes!
  1. CONTACT US FIRST!!!
  2.  Prior to preparing samples, we require a copy of a purchase order or a University of Utah account number.
  3.  Label samples clearly.
  4.  Include a separate list of sample numbers.
  5. Precut thin section chips should be at least 10mm thick and have a rectangular dimension smaller than a 24x40mm coverslip !!!

We no longer accept samples specifically requiring oil or kerosine in the thin section preparation process.  We use copious amounts of water to prepare all thin section samples, and although epoxy generally resolves problems associated with loose and friable samples, it has little effect on bentonitic clays and materials that expand when wet.

Utah 6.6% sales tax (where applicable) and cost of shipping (2-3 day, U.S. Priority mail) will be added to shipped orders.
