FIELD OF STUDY
My primary interest is the investigation of the Earth's structure using seismology. Much of my work has specialized in mapping seismic structure of the deep mantle and developing numerical techniques to model seismic wave propagation. I model seismic waveforms for comparison with actual seismic recordings in order to define Earth's structure. Much of my past work had been devoted to the deep mantle, yet recent work includes waveform modeling of seismic scattering and of upper mantle structure in subduction zone and volcanic settings.
