Abstract:
Over the last 20 years, the application of partial differential equations (PDEs) to images for processing and interpretation has matured into a widely accepted technology.  Despite this, applications of PDEs to seismic data have been few, because of the large computational burden of large 3D datasets and the need to adapt these techniques to the unique structure of seismic signals.
This talk presents results from a series of projects for seismic data interpretation that incorporate PDEs.  It describes the equations, presents the important of implementations on graphics processors, and presents results.
